Tan Glock Extended Mag - 33 Round Extended Magazine for Glock 17 19 26 9mm - Brown - RWB Red, White and Blue

This is an aftermarket magazine of red, white and blue for Glock 9mm pistols. This is not a factory magazine. The magazine is made of Zytel polymer just like the factory magazine. It also has a metal liner like the factory magazine, so it won't be wasted when the pistol's magazine is fired. It will extend the bottom of the grip by about 6".

Increase your potential firepower without blowing a big hole in your budget. Zytel magazine is a small hole to show the number of rounds left. This is a brand new magazine and as such the spring is tight so loading the first few rounds may require a loading/unloading tool.

Tan Glock 45 - If you want the short Glock 45 review, I can sum it up in one sentence; “Shoot like a Glock.

I wore Glocks professionally for fifteen years in uniform and off duty. I have no idea how many times that equals. I have photographed them in instructor and operator level classes. I shot them in competition. I've shot nearly every flavor of .45 and 9mm and quite a few .40 S&W versions. When I say the Glock 45 shoots like a Glock, I mean it's extremely reliable and consistent.

Tan Glock 45

Tan Glock 45

The Glock 45 is essentially a slightly upgraded Glock 19x. I say it's "updated" because the feature set on the G19x caused issues which the 45 fixes. The first problem is that it was only available in the "Coyote" color. While it's quite an attractive finish, I prefer black guns for LE uniform work and just about anything other than crawling through dirt. A firearm should blend in with the officer's uniform and few departments are interested in having a tan weapon that stands out from black gear.

Glock 45 (full Marking)

The second issue was the goofy lip on the front of the magazine though. I understand that if you have very large hands, the lip can protect you from being pinched by the magazine. However, this is a fairly rare case with the Glock 17 length grip. What the lip achieved was to prevent one of the new Gen 5 magazines from fitting into the gun due to the redesigned floor plate. The new magazines are backwards compatible with previous generation pistols, with the exception of the G19x.

The Glock 45 inherited the G19 length slide and G17 length grip layout from the G19x and brushed it in a proper black finish. The Glock 45 also ditched the lab on the magazine well and carried over the flared magwell from other Generation 5 pistols. Internals are identical to the Glock 19x.

This list of changes piqued my interest, but didn't really make me buy the Glock 45. What finally won me over were the forward cocking locks. It's a very simple thing, but it's a feature that I find very useful.

I do a significant amount of dry fire training. The forward armature teeth make cocking the gun a more efficient maneuver. The forward teeth make press controls easier and less likely to eject a ball. No matter where you stand on the frequency of press checks, it's a fact of life when you carry a gun for a living. Finally, in the competitive arena, sometimes you have to take a weapon with an empty chamber and load it on the clock. Cycling on the slide out front allows for more efficient movement and can save time on the fire rope. I was happy to see that this feature now appears to be an upgrade from the rest of the fifth-gen Glocks.

P18 Evo Ii [tan/tan]

My interest skyrocketed to get my hands on the Glock 45. When our local store called to say they had one in stock, I rushed over to have a look. When I wrapped my hand around it, it felt exactly like my Glock 17 Gen 5. This sensation was confirmed when I pulled the trigger. The front arm lock was perfect and worked exactly as I expected.

The final check was that when I stowed the Glock 45 instead of the Glock 19 I was wearing, it fit perfectly. The G45 settled into my appendix holster and now gives me a full size grip and 17 round magazines without sacrificing comfort. The T.Rex Arms Sidecar case pulled the handle quite well. There was little chance of an impression and the comfort in the seated position was exactly the same as with my Glock 19. I was sold.

Performing a live fire check is good practice on any weapon that will be used for defensive purposes. However, doing a reliability check on a 9mm Glock is pretty much a waste of ammo. However, when I purchased the Glock 45 I also added a case of 1000 Blazer 115gr FMJ 9mm bullets.

Tan Glock 45

I recruited two friends and a stack of various Gen 4 and Gen 5 factory magazines, as well as an assortment of Magpul GL-9 magazines. Between the three of us, we shot back-to-back exercises with the G45 to the point where it was smoking. It soon became apparent that gloves were needed. Due to the polymer frame, we can still shoot the gun with our bare hands, but the handling of the slide has become less comfortable.

Mm Glock Pistol Hi Res Stock Photography And Images

Without a drop of lubrication, the Glock 45 ran like a champ. Through numerous "Bill Drills" and magazine changes, he carried on. The only "malfunction" we encountered was a lock failure in an empty magazine. This was fine in the test cycle and was likely due to the shooter depressing the slide stop with his gloved hand.

Towards the end of the ammo crate, I performed several "soft wrist" exercises. The G45 has always cycled with just the middle finger and thumb. Malfunction can be caused by grabbing the frame at the bottom near the magazine well, but this is not uncommon with guns used for reinforcement.

I don't generally do accuracy tests on Glock pistols. Every Glock I've taken has been capable of one-hole groups at defensive engagement ranges. When we stretch them 100 yards, hitting a torso is no problem. The Glock 45 is fitted with Glock's "Marksman" barrel. This new barrel uses a hybrid of Glock's polygonal rifling and standard rifling.

A thousand times isn't a tough test for a proper combat pistol, but it does give us a quick indicator that the Glock 45 will serve most shooters for life. Although we used full metal-jacketed practice ammo for this test in an effort to save money, it's wise to run through at least a box of your favorite defensive ammo before you load up and go. We found the Federal Hydra-shok and the Federal HSP in the 147gr. or the 124 gr. variety works well in Glock 9mm pistols.

Concealed Carry Corner: Carrying In Winter Months The Firearm Blog

The Glock 45 performed exactly as expected. It is reliable and a good value in the defensive weapons market. The question is really whether this weapon lives up to the expectations of the future buyer.

Competitive shooters will be best served by the G34 Gen 5. Armament locks (on the M.O.S. version) and flare will be useful and kept in the Production Division. The G34's extended field of view is invaluable where optics are not permitted.

The average armed citizen will likely find the G19 Gen 5 more suitable for everyday carry. The shorter handle is still long enough for a full fire grip on most adults. The short slide allows for a wider range of concealment options and more comfortable seating. The Glock 19 Gen 5 M.O.S. it also offers forward cocking locks and the ability to add optics. This is becoming much more common on firearms.

Tan Glock 45

The Glock 45 seems like an option aimed squarely at law enforcement. The longer grip fits a wider variety of grips than the Glock 19. Slide length is unimportant when considering service pistols, but is important for detectives or outfitters. Finally, the Glock 45 is a gun that can pop out of the duty holster and be just as comfortable in a rest rig.

My Glock 45 will fit into my regular lineup and training rotation. It's unlikely to replace my Glock 19 as my everyday pistol, but I'd have no problem using one in service if my service adopted it.

Air Assault School Failure Rate - EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is the first of a three-part series detailing a day-by-day account of Cadet Jeff Garner's experience as a student at Fort Campbell's Sabalauski Air Assault school, which he attended Aug. 6-21. Portions of his journal appear and have been edited for syntax.

After graduating from Fort Campbell High School in 2011, Garner fondly considers the installation her home. His family lived in the Werner Park housing community while his mother was assigned to the 101st Airborne Combat Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, where he spent most of his high school years.

During his time as a Falcon, Garner played both defensive end and tackle for the 2009 FCHS state championship football team and participated in the JROTC program. After graduation, his family found themselves moving again, this time to Fort Sill, OK.

Air Assault, Fort Polk Style

"We moved around our whole lives, even before my mom joined the military," Garner said. “You think it's going to make you more closed off, because you don't want to build relationships because you're moving around a lot, but it actually makes you open up more, meet more people and get out there and network and build relationships. It just makes you more comfortable."

It's that resilience that has led to Garner's continued success — earning a full scholarship to the University of Kentucky after graduation. Now a junior and a member of the Reserve Staff Training Corps in college, he recently returned to Fort Campbell to attend Air Assault school as part of his ROTC program.

It started [zero day] at 3:30 a.m. outside the Sabalauski Air Assault School training grounds. Before the Air Assault sergeants left, everyone was divided into their respective brigades. There were 230 of us [On this day we were told to bring a water bottle, an MRE, a pair of running shoes, our PT belt and be in full Combat Uniform. Wait for "Black Bags". At this point the anticipation finally got to me and I started to get a little nervous. When they finally came out of the bows, she instructed us to shout "LOUD AND THUNDERING IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE AIR." After standing in line and getting our number, we were instructed to enter the school yard. When we entered the school yard, we were surrounded by black shirts. Some shouted at us and told us to shout "Air Raid" every time our left foot hit the ground, others smoked us. Finally we reached our destination - the stages of stage one. Already in the first ten minutes, some people were so tired that they had to go to the doctor.

Our first activity of the day was a two kilometer run. After that we smoked some more and were taken to the obstacle course. We were given a detailed walk through each obstacle and then we were told to start. I was really confident - maybe my ring didn't lift as much, but the O course wasn't bad and I didn't fail a single obstacle. I wanted to try to skip all the fees because they weren't necessary, but I went ahead and did them anyway. A few people were a little bit stuck on the ropes, we'd say "Come on! The only help you can really [offer] is motivation, but I've seen two or three, at least from the obstacles I've been in, where they didn't match up." That day we smoked once more and then we were fired until the next morning at 0330.

The Fort Campbell Sabalauski Air Assault School is a physically and mentally challenging two-week course designed to train soldiers in Air Assault operations, sling load operations, and rappelling. During the 10-day training course, soldiers are pushed to their limits as they learn not only the technical and tactical aspects of Air Assault training, but also the importance of attention to detail.

"Day zero is really in the process — the soldier hasn't actually joined the course yet," said Staff Sgt. Donald Davenport, Air Assault Sergeant also known as "Black Hat". "Before they go through the arches, they are pre-checked by our first sergeant and the chief of operations. We start passing the soldiers through the arches at 5 o'clock."

Davenport, an Air Assault sergeant assigned to Garner's wing, has taught at the Air Assault School for a year and sees the zero day as an essential tool in reaching the course.

Air Assault School Failure Rate

"The first thing we do on day zero is a 2-mile run," Davenport said. "It's ... the process of identifying people who are determined enough to want to be here ... who are physically fit enough to complete the standards before we actually start the teaching cycle from day one If they run away, they have fallen."

Immediately after the jump, candidates are introduced to the Air Assault School obstacle course. Designed to test a student's strength, endurance, confidence, behavior and ability at altitude, the course is an important indicator in determining whether a student can complete Air Assault School without becoming a safety hazard to himself or others.

"There are nine obstacles - two mandatory and seven minor obstacles," Davenport said. "They have to pass the two mandatory ones, which are the Challenge and the Climb of Faith. They have two attempts. If they fail these two attempts to negotiate, they are automatically kicked out."

"After the obstacle course, those who make it, walk a short six-kilometer leg, preparing them for the next day's events."

The first day was very difficult. It started at the same time as day zero, but this time we had to have our entire packing list. When we entered the bows, we were told to do "fives and dimes", which was 10 high jumps and 5 pulls. After that, we entered the formation and gave information about our 6-kilometer long walk. Right after that, we started the walk. I had to complete it in one hour and thirty minutes. Since I had smoked the day before, this bench walk seemed more difficult than usual. Before I came here I trained in the mountains... I had a plan. Walking in the mountains and walking in the mountains. This didn't work because most of the bench walking was on flat ground... At first I was just moving from my body... so I run when I'm good and walk when I'm tired, but I caught something. Everyone clicked. I didn't see many people struggling. Everyone seemed very resilient, they were running very hard, fast and steady. Some people can tell you, it hurts a lot more than others. Other people were more natural - they had that experience. It was a bit more difficult for me. Other students helped me. [They] told me, 'run two light poles and then run one' or 'run one and run two, and use it.' This helped me a lot. I managed to finish the walk in five minutes.

Immediately after the beach walk we had ten minutes to set up our equipment for inspection. About six people were cut off because they did not adjust their equipment properly. Luckily I was able to secure my gear in a minute.

After checking in, we were taken to the classroom for our first session. In this lesson we learned about the different types of helicopters and their capabilities. They also took us outside and taught us hand and arm signals. After that we did another session [physical training] and finally we were able to go.

When students begin their first official day of Air Assault School, they are already familiar with the "Five and Dimes" drills, which they perform every day as they enter and leave the school arches.

"They should be asked to ground their gear, do five pull-ups, then put on their gear and then do 10 high-flying air assault kicks, with their feet above their body and their toes and toes together. form a diamond together — muscle groups needed. to thrive in Air Assault School,” Davenport said.

A Culture That Fosters Sexual Assaults And Sexual Harassment Persists Despite Prevention Efforts, A New Pentagon Study Shows

After entering the arches, the students prepare for their first event of the day - a six-mile road walk.

"After setting up, we give them a quick, equipment check and then right around 3:30 [a.m.) that's when we actually get up for the 6-miler," Davenport said. "After the six kilometer walk, they have about 15 minutes to gather their gear, get water and make sure their canteens are up. Then we get them back into formation and get them ready for our 'Ten Layout'."

In this review, students have 10 minutes to put all the checked items in a specific way on their packing list. The importance of this temporary event is attention to detail.

"In this course, we're constantly paying attention to the details," Davenport said. "The smallest mistake, in a real situation or in a mission, can cause

The 101st Air Force was the air mobile unit of Vietnam in 1968 and became the 101st Airborne Division. At the end of the year 1974, some designations were changed to air strikes. According to popular legend, the airborne badges on the Screaming Eagle epaulets remained standing because two of the division's units, the Parachute Assembly Unit and the Pathfinder Company, were still in jump mode. However, there is no basis for this according to AR 670-1, Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia. According to the Heraldry Society, the airborne insignia is "the inner part of the rotator insignia circle" rather than the removable insignia added when the unit is in jump mode, and according to its records, the unit is still designated as the 101st Airborne Division. There are also many other non-military units that have sub-patrol units, such as long-range surveillance units (equivalent to companies) within the field guard brigade, but their presence does not earn the taxicab tire battalion. As for the remaining units of the division, it currently has a pathfinding company in each of the two aviation squadrons, but the reconnaissance unit was separated from the division several years ago. Until late 2013, parachute equipment support was provided by the local 4th Brigade of the 647th Quartermaster Company at Fort Bragg. In October 2013, the jump situation for the two Pathfinder companies was canceled, there were no parachute positions in the division, and the rigging platoon was out of duty. In 2015, the 159th Fighter Wing and its Pathfinder Company were disbanded, and in 2016, the Pathfinder Company of the 101st Airborne Division (formerly the 101st Fighter Wing) was also disbanded. This left the 101st Division with the same configuration as the 10th Mountain Division, a small brigade.

Graduating from the Air Assault Academy is not a requirement to be a soldier in the 101st Division, but it is considered an outstanding achievement by the chain of command.

In 1998, the 34-foot (10 m) tower was completed, and Phase III training began at the facility. On December 17, 1999, the new Sabalauski Air Assault School was opened, the first time in many years that all stages of instruction were held in one place. Each year there are more than 60 classes and more than 8,000 soldiers are trained each year.

Soldiers are considered "Air Assault Captains" after successfully completing the first day of the course, which requires them to complete an obstacle course, a two-mile (3.2 km) run and extensive physical training.

It was carried out after walking 9.7 kilometers (6 miles) on the first day. Soldiers must have all items listed on the packing slip, each item clean and serviceable (in serviceable condition). If a soldier misses any item during the inspection, that soldier will be dismissed from the course. The examination has a very specific pattern that soldiers must follow. Each item must be placed the way the Air Commando instructor displays the item, and all items must be placed "as is".

The obstacle course is designed to assess the student's upper body strength, agility, endurance, confidence, and ability to perform at heights without exhibiting fear or difficulty. This test is important in determining if a student can graduate from Air Assault School without risking their safety to themselves, instructors or other students during the rigorous training activities and demands that occur throughout the course. There are nine obstacles in total. Two obstacles are considered mandatory, failure of either will result in withdrawal from the course. Other sevs are the second obstacle, the prospect of an air attack can fail one of the sevs and run. This means that failure to pass two minor obstacles will result in withdrawal from the course.

Students will run two miles (3.2 km) before the obstacle course. Studts must end their run at 18:00 to get a "GO" in the evt (meaning successful completion of the evt). The uniform for running is the Army Combat Uniform (ACU - minus ACU Top based on the season in which the training period begins) and running shoes.

Throughout the military, from Ranger School to Air Assault, basic training, and countless other events, the 12-mile ruck march is everywhere. I've done a lot of 12 milers and none of them have been particularly enjoyable. A normal military weight of 35 pounds without water is heavy enough to be cumbersome after three hours. Add 15-20 kilos of water and the load becomes painful. When I went to Ranger School, I was worried about the 12 mile march after being on my feet all week. The backpack alone weighed 35-40 pounds and I was carrying 9 liters (about 19 pounds) of water. At about mile 8 I felt someone catch up to my left. Looking back, I saw something that my tired brain didn't immediately perceive; someone had a backpack loaded in front or chest, arms wrapped around them in a big bear hug. As they got closer I asked what was going on.

"My straps broke at four miles," he said, "and I didn't want to waste time fixing them." That's what I heard before he passed me.

Air Assault Guide

I think about that woman every now and then. I never saw him again, but it was impressive that he completed that rye march at all, and humiliating that he did it faster than I did. I know he had to work a lot harder to get the same result. And while the military bills itself as a meritocracy where results correlate with effort, I think this one woman's experience would resonate in places far beyond Fort Benning, Georgia. The military often places an undue burden on women and then acts surprised when its policies disproportionately affect them. Each of these institutional slights adds weight to the minds of women in our armed forces that their male counterparts do not have to carry.

For example, in Europe, one of the few American maternity hospitals is located at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in West Germany. I was about four hours away, and many other soldiers are much further away. If a soldier or family member has to go to the maternity ward, they can either take the day off work and spend $100 on gas or see a German doctor. Obviously, someone may prefer to choose a doctor who speaks their language for a personal medical visit. For patients with an emergency or even a routine exam, the military gives them two bad options and forces them to choose. The weight of women facing this decision may not seem like much, but it adds to the weight they carry every day. This standard 35 kg backpack can now weigh 38 kg.

There are many other military policies that add further weight to this metaphorical backpack. Another example: single mothers are essentially forced out of the military if they are stationed in Europe because they are rarely able to name a guardian for their child if they are deployed. Currently, having a child alone is not grounds for compassionate transfer to another duty station where a soldier may rely on their parents or other family members to care for their child and is therefore forced to leave. A man who has had a child is not faced with the same situation. 38 kilos is now 40.

Rakkasan Soldier Breaks 12 Mile Air Assault Foot March Record

These are just two situations that are common in the military and disproportionately affect women, but the culture maintained by male soldiers can be truly heartbreaking. Many soldiers may not realize how damaging a daily diet of microaggressions can be; I know a lot of guys I've talked to, I really don't. But when a friend of mine was asked at a meeting if "curtains go with the curtains" she got the burden she never asked. The same applies to the woman whose report of sexual harassment was brushed under the carpet by the battalion commander. The same goes for the one who didn't get into the ladies' room for months, or the one who was asked out on a date at their last meeting with their commanding officer, or the one who was told her skirt was unprofessional at her promotion committee. And I don't even have to mention the female officers who insist on civilian clothes in a place that doesn't pull, the female soldiers who don't feel safe in the barracks, the non-commissioned officers whose authority is not respected. Service members accused of being pregnant or called "aggressive" in meetings. 40 kilos. 42 kilos. 44 kilos. 46 kilos.

Or a woman abused by her S3. 48 kilos. Women who follow their attackers go free. 50 pounds. A woman who died in her unit's armory. The burden gets heavier.

Seen in this light, many supposed successes are far less justified. If someone completed 12 miles at Ranger School with a 15 pound ruck they would be kicked off the course, but men can be promoted to ever higher levels with far less stuff than their female counterparts. If a person has a figurative advantage of £15 or £20 every time they compete for an opportunity, the system looks less like a meritocracy and more like exploitation. So, men, we must ask ourselves, what benefits have we received that others have not? What do we enjoy at someone else's expense? Is the military really a meritocracy and are we really deserving, or are we just given the freedom to work towards our goals without misogyny, prejudice and, at worst, the specter of violence?

Air Assault Ruck Weight

To its credit, the military slowly began to realize its responsibility to balance this burden. Secretary Austin established an independent review board to investigate the military's culture of sexual violence and sexism, and Congress just reached an agreement to move sexual violence cases outside the military command. The military has recently changed its regulations on the look and wear of military uniforms, allowing women more flexibility in hairstyles, the ability to wear earrings and (modestly) paint their nails while in uniform. Reports have revealed that some female soldiers have to spend up to ten times more on uniforms than male soldiers, something women have long understood but most men have never even considered. Army Sergeant Grinston, a senior military leader, is now turning to social media to end sexism. Following Tucker Carlson's announcement, military leaders even provided support for pregnant soldiers.

Things No One Wants To Remember About Ruck Marches

However, the military still has a lot of work to do to make things fairer and more just for all its members. For example, Lip claiming to support pregnant women makes no sense when pregnant women still face discriminatory policies. Committees and studies are important but ultimately useless unless they provide meaningful and timely policy change. Men who make or ignore sexist comments contribute to a culture that demands more of women than men. And as long as parts of the armed forces are overstretched and neglected, the military will never be the meritocracy that Americans need.

air assault phase 1 test

air assault phase 1 test

Air Assault Phase 1 Test - It's called the "toughest 10 days in the military," and I'm sure there are other Army schools that can claim a tough 10-day period, but there's something in folklore about Air Assault School. The military has many schools dedicated to teaching specific skills or preparing soldiers for new leadership roles, but few match the physical demands, mental stimulation and sheer exhilaration of trying to earn an air assault badge.

As a training course, the school is open to all ranks and all branches of the Army, although it is run by Army NCOs (known as "Air Assault Sergeants") and mostly students (known as "Air Assault Sergeants"). or "roll number ) Soldiers. The choice of school to attend depends on your unit. The 101st Airborne Division has its own version of school, and all Soldiers assigned to the unit must attend and retrain until they pass. Other units, National Guard and Reserve units, in particular, usually recruit a soldier only once (sometimes as a result of reenlistment or a unit selection program or process) and if they have no opportunity to go back or reenlist at a later date, the course is very thin.

Air Assault Phase 1 Test

Air Assault Phase 1 Test

"An air assault operation is an operation in which an assault force maneuvers under the direction of a ground or air maneuver commander to engage or capture and capture enemy forces, using the movement of rotary-wing assets and the full integration of available firepower. Key. Topography. Air assault is a positional A vertical siege designed to surround or encircle enemy forces unable to resist or prevent an operation, in order to gain an advantage." — FM 3–99, Landing and Air Assault Operations

Inside The Selection Process For Sas, Britain's Elite Special Forces Unit

Although specialized units such as the 101st Airborne Division are specifically trained to conduct air assault operations, any unit can conduct an air assault if it has the training and personnel necessary to plan and execute such a mission. The Air Assault School provides the training necessary to plan and conduct an air assault mission. Because air assault involves air assets, the training provided by the school is rarely of value to units that conduct air assault but must work with aviation assets. Any unit, especially combat arms units and logistics units, would benefit from having air assault-qualified soldiers dispersed during formation.

If you want to know what the first air combat mission was like, watch We Were Warriors, starring Mel Gibson as LTC Hal Moore, commander of the 1-7th Cavalry during the Battle of Ia Drang in 1965.

The course is divided into three phases, each lasting approximately 3 days and building upon the other. Phase I begins at zero term (first day of the course) and covers flight safety, nomenclature, aeromedical operations, planning issues and emergency guidance operations. Phase I concludes with a written test and a practical test that includes hand and hand signals. Phase II teaches slingload operations and concludes with both a written test and a practical test. Stage III teaches abseiling and culminates with a 90-foot rappel from a tower (height depends on availability at course location) and a UH-60 Black Hawk. Graduation day begins with a 12-mile run that must be completed in under 3 hours and ends with a short ceremony.

Air Assault School is not a 'gentleman's course', with strict standards to be met and opportunities to make mistakes and be sent home aplenty. Additionally, not showing proper motivation (shouting "air raid" every time your left foot hits the ground, not doing a double take everywhere you go on a mission day) or not carefully following your air assault sergeant's instructions can lead to additional consequences. PT. It is important to show mental preparation.

Th Airborne Division

Day zero is one of the most important days of the course. Typically, the largest number of dropouts or failures occur during these first 12 hours. Expect to smoke intermittently throughout the day from around 0400. After smoking for 20-40 minutes, do diamond push-ups like running 2 miles, push-ups and rope climbing in less than 18 minutes. The Mountain Tactical Institute has a good fitness plan to prepare for the course (which also focuses on ruck marches). One tweak I would make to this plan is to add diamond thrusters, as they are the only thrust allowed in Air Assault School.

The most challenging event at Day Zero is the obstacle course. Featuring tough, reliable climbs, weavers, low-belly, high-step, 6-gum, run-down, bounce-stop-jump and ramp walls, the challenge is to complete each obstacle after needing to wind down. Doing a push-up (diamond push-up) before and after each obstacle, and then doing at least one exercise while moving between each obstacle. Normally I don't have a problem with an obstacle course, but adding in the extra cardio and upper body work made it a real challenge. Outside of the 2-mile run, the biggest shakedown event on Zero Day is the rope climb at Tough One. If you don't learn rope climbing, don't go to school, if you can't climb 20-25 feet of rope when your arms are tired, don't go to school.

After Day Zero, the remaining students are officially part of the Air Assault School. Academics aren't too difficult, but you'll be presented with a large amount of information in a relatively short period of time. Feel free to ask questions during or after class. Take notes and read your notes and Air Assault Handbook in the evening.

Air Assault Phase 1 Test

Apart from being a good student, have fanatical attention to detail. You must carry some things with you throughout the day. Carry them in the right pocket, the right way. When it comes to 6-mile and 12-mile runs, pack exactly what's on your packing list. Success here starts with buying or buying easily lost items (like army-issue ear protection) and double and triple checking before each march. Failure to have all the required items in the layout/check after each march will result in immediate withdrawal from the course.

Army Ranger Training

In Phase II, spend as much time as possible studying actual slings used for demonstrations. A practical load test requires you to identify a maximum of 4 defects in each distorted load in less than 2 minutes. Each sling has a sequence that is used to check each inspection part of the load. Make a note of this sequence as you train and repeat it over and over again when training under load or during free time. Students who pass the practical test for the first time (failures are given 1 additional chance to retest at any load) usually return to study for an additional 2, 3 or 4 hours after the mandatory test. Study times are over.

Attention to detail and order does not end at Phase III. Improper fastening of the Swiss seat and improper connection to the rappel line lead to an immediate descent of the course after the test in both events. Before each rappel check and recheck the Swiss position while waiting for the rappel master to check you; Take a break and double check your connection when you rappel. Officers and enlisted men are given zero room for error after proper testing, and even on the last day of the course I saw a student sent home for improperly connecting a rappel line on a UH-60.

Don't worry about studying the academic or knowledge part of the course. It's hard to find a current copy of the Air Assault Handbook (the one I got was old and supplemented with printed handouts), and the information provided is enough to keep you busy, but not enough to overwhelm you. Prepare your body for a lot of exercise, lace up your shoes, wear Fox River or Darn Tough socks on your run, and mentally prepare to pay attention to every little detail of your uniform and packing list.

Earning the Air Assault Badge is a rewarding experience. Not everyone goes to school and not everyone graduates. If you get a chance to go, don't miss it.

aircraft registration renewal

aircraft registration renewal

Aircraft Registration Renewal - Is your aircraft registration certificate coming out soon? You may have more time - update like years. The FAA will issue a rule this month extending the validity of aircraft certificates of registration from three to seven years.

The FAA explained, “The new rule applies to new registrants and extends the validity of existing certificates. It includes all conventional aircraft and larger drones."

Aircraft Registration Renewal

Aircraft Registration Renewal

Under the draft final rule, owners will be required to verify aircraft registration information and renew their certificates every seven years, unless an event or circumstance requires a new registration before then. In this scenario, for example, if the FAA determines that the aircraft's registration is inaccurate, the owner may be required to submit a new application for registration.

How To Renew Your Residence Permit Or Nie In Spain

In addition, the express final rule eliminated the requirement that the FAA issue a letter extending a temporary authorization if the registration is not granted or the application is denied within 90 days of the application.

In 2010, the FAA mandated that aircraft owners must register and renew their aircraft every three years. Until now, the registration period has been indefinite and some aircraft owners have had their registrations expire.

Since 2010, aircraft owners are required to apply for re-registration 5 months in advance. But in some cases, even five months wasn't enough processing time because of the FAA's backlog, forcing plane owners to get additional letters so they could fly their planes again.

In 2018, and as part of the FAA Reauthorization Act, Congress directed the agency to extend the three-year aircraft registration period for up to seven non-commercial general purpose aircraft. However, the FAA found this distinction ineffective and chose to extend the registration period for all aircraft to seven years.

How Long Can I Be Outside Spain Without Losing My Residency?

The rule applies to all existing registrations, meaning that registrations issued in 2021 will continue until 2028.

Traditionally, regulatory changes are notified in a proposed rulemaking (NPRM) and published in the Federal Register, followed by a 30-day comment period. However, in this case, the agency has chosen a direct final rule, but will still accept comments within 30 days. The rule takes effect 60 days after publication.

If you are a business professional who travels frequently, you probably fly business class to get to your destination without unnecessary hassles. Flying business class gives you access to a range of great perks that make your journey as painless as possible.

You might be surprised to learn what benefits you can get when chartering a private jet and how they can work. There are many ways to rent a jet for less than you might expect!

Aircraft Rental Near Me

Read the Private Jet Costs and Payment Options section to learn more. There are many reasons to fly private, but let's start with why it's a smarter choice than flying first class.

Texas Skies Flight School

BONUS: Buying a 25-hour jet card is a great way to cut the cost of chartering a private jet. offers monthly promotions to make this option more affordable.

More than 5,000 airports operate in the US and are available for use by private aircraft.

In contrast, commercial airlines have only 500 airports. It is undoubtedly more convenient to stop near your destination and avoid a long taxi ride.

If you hate the many hassles that happen at the airport, you can choose to fly private to avoid the security lines.

Buying A Used Aircraft: Cessna 150/152

You also don't have to think about arriving at the airport too early or keeping liquids under a certain allowance.

If you've ever flown commercially and have to take your work with you, it's hard to focus on what you're doing.

Babies may be crying, mothers are teaching their children, or couples are arguing behind you. Noise can easily distract you and you end up not completing what you need to do.

Besides spending less time and traveling faster than commercial flights, you can get work done while you're in the air because you're alone or with the same company.

Aero Airlines: What To Know

Even on business or first class flights, it can be dangerous to conduct structured transactions and conversations. You never know who's nearby and listening.

Additionally, a 2009 National Business Aviation Association survey found that respondents rated themselves as 20% more productive while on a corporate jet compared to sitting in an office.

When companies go out of business, it may make sense to measure the loss of working hours, which can have a financial impact on the business.

Let's take a trip to Fresno from Palm Springs, California, which should be less than an hour by plane.

Aero Atlanta Flight Center

Flying commercially, this journey can cost you seven hours if you're taking a commercial flight – including airport transfers, waiting time and return journeys.

If you decide to charter a private jet for your trip, you can reach your destination in 45 minutes.

Some destinations have no air service or are limited to commercial flights, making a private jet faster and more convenient than driving to your destination.

Aircraft Rental Near Me

If your trip has many stops and you only have a short amount of time, it makes sense to fly by private jet to save time and hassle.

Engine Rental Bank

You should arrive at the airport no later than your flight departure to allow for the time it takes to clear security.

Private flyers like these modes of transportation because they don't have to worry about problems at the airport.

In fact, the ban on liquidity that occurred in 2006 did not affect those who traveled by private jet.

You won't have to worry about carrying items like product samples, sports gear and more. If you have a pet, you can bring it to the cabin.

Aircraft For Rent

There may be times when commercial flights may result in a more expensive trip than chartering a private jet, such as:

You can save more privately when you consider a day out of the office compared to two days in a hotel room.

Airplane Prop - How many times do you wander down the runway and see a regular jet engine that just stops you and says "Wow!" I mean, the plane can track you, but I'm talking about the engine itself being something special that makes you stop and take a good look.

I remember seeing heavy metal on Cub for the first time and going, “Wait! We'll have to see! ” Or the same as a complete work of art. You know the kind I'm talking about: the one with soft, shiny, dynamic, silky wood that seems to bend and float through the air even when you're standing still.

At this year's annual Pietenpol Reunion in Brodhead, Wisconsin, in the line of Piets, Dan Helsper's plane was nose to nose with the metal from the others. Its light caramel color highlights a large metal X on the nose. Combine that with the beautiful woodwork and vintage 1920s fabric in the home and it brings to mind images of Royal Air Force B.E.2s from more than a decade ago. As we walked around, we saw the light reflecting off the golden trees from different angles, and played with the rows and rows of giant samara trees. In case you were wondering, samaras are maple syrup that slowly descends like a small helicopter.

Based on the path he trotted through the grass, we were far from the only ones interested in Dan's flight. Over the next few days we found our eyes returning to a black and yellow Piet with a unique prop. It sounded different than other Model A-powered Piets, with a lower hum, more of a purring up close, take off. Along with the Model A's brass engine mounts and vertical radii that limited the front view, it harkens back to a time when airplanes were more mysterious and exotic—when air evolution was a thumbs up that "looked good" instead of a page. . When the sun rose and the morning mist lifted, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a century ago.

Inspired by the nostalgia, charm and mystique of the original Pietenpol Air Camper, Dan decided to build one as close to the original 1929 plan as possible, including giving it a Ford Model A engine cooler. After 10 years of construction, the first flight took place in 2010. By then, Dan was living in Poplar Grove, Illinois, making the short annual flight to Pietenpol Airport in Brodhead, Wisconsin, and AirVenture. However, he later moved to Puryear, Tennessee, where he made long trips in a 50 hp airplane. He didn't mind traveling three times over the years, from Tennessee to Wisconsin and back.

During the construction of the Air Camper, in 2006 or 2007, Dan attended AirVenture and saw a conference called "How to Advertise", taught by Jerry Thornhill. “Engineering seemed like a black art and I was fascinated,” Dan said. He continued: “I camped for three days of the convention, attended all the classes and watched Jerry build the iron. I took lots of pictures and notes! "

After he got home, Dan made his first attempt at making a knife. "It didn't go well," he recalled. On reviewing the questions, he confirmed that his preparations were not as good as they should have been and that the adhesive material was not of the required quality, but he considered it a great learning and training experience. An important thing to learn was to avoid over-lubricating the chainsaw, as too much will cause the wood to become greasy and prevent the paint from sticking.

Are More Propeller Blades Better?

After a few training sessions, he tried again with greater success. It was curved in shape and built of ash. The shape came from a "dead drop" of metal he had seen on a vintage engine at Brodhead's booth years ago. He took a picture of it and scaled it to full size and printed that picture, traced the engine outline on a full sheet and scaled the dimensions to size to make a model. Dan painted an entire side and marked it six inches apart, made a pattern on each side, then transferred the information to the other side as it was slowly released from the wood.

When it was finished, Dan added dark mahogany to the finish to give it the right look that emphasized the overall look of the Pietenpol. Pietenpol himself made the first flight behind this prop and many more hours in the air over the next 10 years. Dan's skills soon had other Pietenpol lovers coming to him for advice or to repair their planes. He continued to experiment with different designs and continued to gain knowledge and experience.

That's all well and good, but Dan is not the type to go well enough alone. "I was very impressed with the four-engine WW-I aircraft. I just thought they looked good. As he gained experience building engines, he thought he would try to make one with more than two blades. In 2013, he tried to make his first design. "It was good, but not really what I wanted. It was very big, heavy and had a big platform. It just wasn't good enough. After flying it for 10 hours, it came and the two the knives went back.

During the winter of 2020, Dan decided to try and make another iron with an eye to making things more compact and lighter, with a smaller diameter and reduced pitch. Using 1×8 thick cardboard, he trimmed each board down from 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch. As with all his engines, the wood panels were glued together with Weldwood Plastic Resin Glue as recommended by Jerry Thornhill. Each piece of wood is leveled so that the heavy ends overlap. Once assembled, a blade shape template is drawn on each piece and the blade is cast to shape. At this stage it looks like a two-seater child's toy.

How A Propeller Generates Thrust

The lead and follow-up lines are carefully measured and marked with a pen, never ink or magic marker, which will contaminate the final product. More than one piece of wood is pushed right along with the line you have got up to the weather conditions. The sand carefully follows, carefully bringing the life iron from the wood. When the first metal is filled, the stations are set every six inches and templates are made. Using these parameters, the structure and airfoil were simulated for the following three dimensions. The placement of the laminations ultimately left Dan with a thickness of 3-1/8 inches, and he prepared each strip as thin as he dared. Finally, the pool measured 68 inches in diameter and 41 inches in length. When full, it was only 4 pounds more than the weight of his two swimming pools. That's very impressive when you consider the benefits of two extra blades!

How is his Piet doing with the new prop? "Well, I can't say much different, to be honest," Dan said. “It's very quiet. It has a beautiful sound, like the "thrum" of an Irish bodhran drum. I'm not sure if it's from breaking the exhaust but it sounds good. Using a fish scale, he measured static electricity. With his old program he weighed 285 pounds, with the new he weighed 240 pounds. However, he's not sure if that's really the difference because there really doesn't seem to be any difference in flight.

Pietenpol is not known for his work, and Dan has a forecast for high wind speeds, which he admits is more of a show than real data (but it looks good). He noticed no difference in height or speed. However, more attention is being paid to the fly-ins now, as everyone seems to be doing a double-take watching the special show!

The liquid cooling of the Ford Model A engine is served by a vertical radiator which restricts the forward view

Fundamentals Of Aircraft Propeller Design

Dan took all the notes, photos and experiences and compiled them into a book called Propeller Carving-The All Power Tool Method. His goal was to create an approach that would essentially take what he learned about engine building to interested people. "Most of the books I found when I started were based on math and a lot of math," he explained. “It was not what I wanted. I wanted a step by step guide for someone who knows nothing about metal building but really wants to do it. ” Dan's book is available as an e-book or on CD from The Technical Books Company.

Another good method is NACA Technical Note No. 212, which covers how to determine the wood to be used in engine construction based on the required RPM.

Aircraft Rental Insurance - When a pilot rents a plane from an FBO or flight school, they usually assume that there is adequate insurance coverage. It is only after an incident or accident that the lessee is hit with the devastating and expensive news that the aircraft owner's policy only covers the owner. Since the average cost of an aircraft insurance claim is $30,000 regardless of the error, a renter can quickly find themselves on the wrong end of that claim.

While airplane rental insurance has been around for decades, many renters who realize they need "non-owner" coverage may find the market confusing and difficult to access. That's why Starr Insurance Companies, a global leader in aviation insurance, has developed a new shopping experience for aircraft rental insurance with the Starr Gate iPad app.

Available through Starr's brokerage network or Apple's App Store, the Starr Gate app helps pilots fly more safely, save money, and gives renters peace of mind knowing they're covered when they need to file a claim. The ability to purchase aircraft rental insurance on a monthly basis means that pilots can tailor their cover to suit their flight schedule. If pilots only train or fly occasionally, they can use the app to buy coverage when they need it — even for a month — and not have to pay for coverage when they're not flying. Since the application process takes less than five minutes, pilots can purchase their aircraft charter insurance and have their flight covered the same day.

The Star Gate app can save charter pilots money and also contribute to safer flying habits. Fixed-wing pilots can get up to 35% off their charterers' insurance premiums for participating in a flight scoring option offered through Stargate's partnership with CloudAhoy, the premier cloud-based debriefing tool for pilots post-flight. With an available 35-day trial of CloudAhoy Pro, Starr Gate app users can choose to score flight safety by using the CFI Assistant tool. By challenging pilots to improve every flight, the CloudAhoy app helps build pilot skills, reducing accident statistics. “With CloudAhoy data, we can record coverage in high definition. It's a tailored insurance policy that can help you become a better pilot,” said Jim Anderson, Cirrus pilot and senior vice president of Star Aviation.

The Star Gate app is a beautiful and modern solution to get the air charter insurance you need, with the terms that best suit you. Coverage can be adapted to single-engine, multi-engine and piston-powered rotorcraft. In addition, cover is also available for single-engine seaplanes. Whether your logbook is empty or filled with 30,000 hours, the Star Gate iPad app will help you when the sky calls and find your favorite charter flight.

Airplane Propeller Ceiling Fan - I found this old racer to add to my collection of aircraft parts displayed in this garage At first, I didn't know it, but when I got the idea to turn it into a ceiling fan… there was no other way.

I then gave the hub shaft to a colleague who I knew had the necessary skills to build a stand. I gave him full control of the rack design and he created a vertical stand with 6-inch pulleys on top.

Like many projects, I was so busy finishing the work that I forgot to take photos... Here, the stand is suspended from a vertical 2X8 rod that I attached to the rafters in the garage. The stand has been painted, new manufacturer decals have been added and attached to the stand

Brewmaster Long Neck Ceiling Fan

To rotate the rider, I bought this motor which was originally used in a mobility scooter. It is a 24 volt 6 amp DC electric motor that rotates at 300 rpm.

I removed the original gear pulley Paint the motor mount black, rotate 180 degrees and reassemble Then I added a three inch V-belt pulley It is mounted on a 2X8 on the propeller rack, facing down, so that the three-inch pulley on the engine is parallel with the six-inch pulley on the propeller mount.

A V-belt connects the motor to the bracket and uses a 110 volt AC to 12 volt 3 amp DC power supply. The stand rotates at about 75 rpm

Step 6: It's... Alive... Alive! (For fun, I added some sound effects at the beginning of the video.)
