Airplane Pose - Airplane Pose is a yoga balance pose, similar to Warrior III Pose, without the arms. In this case, the arms are stretched back like the wings of an airplane, while in Warrior III Pose.

This pose is very easy for most people because it puts relatively little weight on the shoulders and neck.

Airplane pose engages the shoulders, chest, ribs, upper abdomen, and arm muscles to keep the shoulders and hips stable when the arms are in the wing-back position.

Half Moon Pose

This position helps to develop balance and awareness, and to prepare the body for difficult balance problems.

Airplane pose can improve your balance and strengthen the muscles in your legs and arms. Thigh muscle alignment gets a good workout and develops core muscles. Also, as you try to maintain your balance, your focus and concentration will improve.

You can practice standing next to a wall if your balance is off. Stand close enough to the wall so that your side body or one of your hands can hold it if necessary.

Use the handle to keep the raised leg straight and parallel to the floor. Before adjusting the raised leg, wrap the strap around the feet and hold the ends of the straps with both hands. Adjust the length of the strap when adjusting the raised leg. This will help keep your arms in the right position.

If you want to work on balance first, use a yoga block in a high position and place your hands on it as you raise your leg.

Approach dekasana slowly and methodically, as you would any other pose. Dekasana strengthens the legs, lower back and abdomen while stretching all major muscle groups and improving balance. It's an easy way to practice before moving on to more challenging simulations.
